Pelvic Floor
Statistics tell us that 50% of women who have a vaginal birth will have a prolapse and 1 in 3 women will experience incontinence over the course of their lives. Considering these staggering findings and their implications, all women could find a pelvic floor consultation useful!
This is especially true after giving birth (either Vaginal or C-section) and at Menopause, as there are many changes to our pelvic floor tissues at these times, both physical and hormonal.
Pelvic floor consultations usually involve an internal examination for best assessment of pelvic floor function but this is not always necessary.
The pelvic floor, like any group of muscles can be trained for strength, co-ordination and endurance (to name a few) and exercise programs are often very individual depending on assessment findings.

Surf Coast Shire spans the traditional lands of the Wadawurrung and Eastern Maar people. We acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners and Protectors of this place. We acknowledge their ancestors who cared for the land, rivers and sea - and all of its creatures - for thousands of generations. We pay our respects to elders past, present and future who continue on this path.
